One of the best ways to invest in research is to invest in people. I'm very grateful that the Silverstein FNDN have selected us as one of the centers to receive funding for a 2-years fellowship to study GBA1. Please contact me if you are interested. businesswire.com/news/home/2023…
Our newest pre-print from my work @TheNeuroMNI McGill University! We reveal pivotal mechanisms in Parkinson's disease. Mutations in PINK1 linked to early onset PD. PINK1 accumulates on damaged mitochondria, triggering mitophagy. #Parkinsons #Mitochondria 🧬🧠 biorxiv.org/content/10.110…🧵/5
✍️The Palancade Lab published a new article in FEBS Letters "Puzzling out nuclear pore complex assembly". ⬇️ febs.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/18…
Our review on Nuclear Pore Complex assembly is out now! So happy to have had the opportunity to contribute to this FEBS Letters special issue, can't wait to read all the other reviews and keep learning about how amazing NPCs are!
This might become a bit controversial. Our new paper looking at human genetics data on the NLRP3 inflammasome does not support it as an important therapeutic target for Parkinson's. Study led by Konstantin Senkevich with great help from @HamptonLLeonard and others. medrxiv.org/content/10.110…
