Senator Ron Johnson fought for a trillion dollar tax cut for the rich and brushed off deficit concerns. But he just opposed a $1200 stimulus for ordinary Americans, citing (wait for it...) deficit concerns. He’s up for re-election in 2022. Wisconsin, remember this.

Sen. Ron Johnson objected to my bill to provide $1,200 to working families and $500 for kids because he's "worried" about the deficit. Funny. He wasn't so worried about the deficit when he voted to give $1 trillion in tax breaks to the 1% and large corporations. What hypocrisy!

There's a myth that young people get anxious or depressed when people talk about the reality of the climate crisis. My experience is the opposite. The worst part is denial, looking away, downplaying or spreading false hope saying ”we'll fix this” without taking sufficient action.

This has been pointed out over and and over again throughout 2020 by leading experts and yet it has been pretty much completely ignored in the debate.
