Lab paper alert! Myc mRNA has a very short lifetime and can not be accumulated. Sharon Sharon Kagan Ben Tikva shows that the frequency of Myc expression (transcriptional bursts), rather than its amounts, dictates B cell positive selection in germinal centers over time. science.org/doi/10.1126/sc…

At least 25 researchers in our field must have had this idea cross our minds at least once. Only one of us had the crazy will to give it a real go. I think there’s a “before” and “after” this paper for those of us working on HSC heterogeneity.
