Our Year 6‘s also enjoyed Pond Dipping on our Nell Bank - can you see what animal we found? There were lots of different playgrounds to explore and build our confidence, and to challenge ourselves to climb! We even walked to one in Ilkley and had some ice cream too! 🍦

We had an absolute blast on our Whole School Trip today to William's Den ☀️

The opportunity to take all of our pupils and staff out at once, to play together and work as a team is always one of our favourite days of the year! Thanks for having us William's Den ☀️

Pupils and staff loved William's Den which had something for everyone! From giant sandpits, indoor and outdoor playgrounds, fast zip wires and a maze made from hay bales, to balance beams, water play and even an indoor waterfall! 💦

Today we found out that team ‘Earth’ won the most tokens this year and they were treated to a reward afternoon! 🌏 The house had an afternoon with IMAS, learning how to play Kin-Ball! Well done to all our for all your hard work this year, who will win next year?🌏💨🔥💦

As we have been learning about Olympics this term, we held our own Opening ceremony!🏅Pupils were introduced in their house teams, completing a ‘lap of honour’ before the competition began. Houses have their own flag, signifier and even their own song, which pupils recognise!

…. and they’re off!! 🏃‍♂️👩‍🦽 Sports day was a huge success!! We had lots of different types of races so that everyone could join in, from children running, children walking using their walkers or an adult to help, to space hoppers and bean bag races!!

Each term we have a ‘Stunning Start’ day to kick off our new topics, & to help our staff understand what our pupils already know! Our topics this term are; • EYFS - Transport 🚗 • Lower Primary - Construction and Buildings👷‍♂️ • Upper Primary - Robots: What can a robot do? 🤖

We had learning opportunities throughout the the academy, from a robot rave where pupils were getting into the character of a robot, dressing up and practicing their robot dance moves, right through to making famous Bradford landmarks out of food to link with our DT curriculum!

In the courtyard we were challenged to make our own Robots from recycled junk modelling materials, linking to our PSED topic of recycling and reusing! We also explored ‘materials’ feely boxes, guessing what materials were inside which links to our Science learning this term! 🤖

In the bus compound we had a ‘vehicle wash’ so pupils could get up close to lots of different kinds of vehicles, from small bikes to massive traffic management lorries. A huge thanks to Premier Traffic Management who brought vehicles along and were on hand to answer all of our questions! 🚚

Our pupils have settled back into swimming brilliantly! 💧Our pupils in Comets and Meteors will be working on the Rockhopper Swimming Series! Our ‘new to school’ pupils will start off on badge one and everyone else will continue on the badge they were working on last school year!

In swimming our pupils in Rockets and Galaxies Pathways will be having their physiotherapy in the pool, where adults working with them will be encouraging pupils to stretch their arms and legs by using big inflatable balls and ducks which pupils can choose! 🐤#dowhatmattersmost

Six small groups of pupils from across school with a passion for dance will have the opportunity to access ballet lessons with Project Resurgence dance this year! We hope to ignite their love for dance further 🩰

A little glimpse into our first groups ballet session today with Project Resurgence Dance! Martin and Charlie, who are ballet dancers, helped to lead our pupils in learning new ballet moves, and made sure every pupil could achieve to their full potential🩰
