Hi! I heard people miss the Akkadian letters? So, have you heard about Aššur-nādā? No worries. That's what this 🧵 is for. 1/12

😍 (though I'm going to be a bit of a party pooper and remind followers that not even Old Persian, which is featured here, is not completely alphabetic or this simple actually)

A princess & a prince, an Assyrian port, a roguish merchant, five witnesses. An international éclat, a hostage, a ransom, and death threats. This is one of the most exciting texts I have read and my favourite correspondence. Enter Aššur-taklāku at the height of his mischief!

One of the most powerful texts written in Assyrian, or well, any language <3 (I've also translated this poem... Sadly some things here work better in English than in Finnish)

I've tried to stop using Twitter but I can't help it, I want to say that I'll be present at RAI69 Helsinki. I'm a "student assistant" even though I'm not a student anymore, I have wanted to join RAI from the moment I heard it will be here in my home town in 2024 😍 -A
