Impressed with Ss on this task - engaged with each other, invested in their work and demonstrating skills in their videos. Using AACT simulation, interactive slides and zoom breakout rooms. Ss picked partners. docs.google.com/presentation/d…

This "reaction type" interactive slide activity worked well - took longer than one period - willing to sacrifice the time for rich conversation and learning! (reworked a pogil) docs.google.com/presentation/d…

This school year has been very difficult and far from ideal for everyone, but calling it a “lost” or “wasted” year is an insult to educators and students who have worked harder than ever and accomplished amazing things. I think that I will look back on this year with pride.

• Do what interests you the most. • Spend time with nature. • Ask questions. • Never stop learning. • Don't pay attention to what others think of you. • Read everyday. • Study hard. • Teach others what you know. • Make mistakes and learn. • It's Okay to not know things!

As this school year finally comes to an end, I am feeling a tremendous sense of gratitude for the most AMAZING colleagues whose patience & insight helped make this crazy journey more manageable than I ever thought possible. LHS You’re the best! 💗 20-21 is officially done! 🎉

I welcome everyone to the class, introduce myself, survey students for backgrounds and interests, talk about safety and engage them in a lab experience of some kind.

A3: I have traditionally done the milk and food coloring experiment to get students to start talking about particles and their movement. I may do skittles this year. Both are colorful, instagram worthy and engaging. Conversations about particles begin on day 1. #chemedchat

A6: Last year, I tried to keep common partners and allowed friend groups to keep them in a common pod as they were together outside of the school setting. Normally, I rotate, throughout the year based on performance, personalities and productivity. #chemedchat

Rest In Peace Katie. A reminder that everyone is fighting a battle you know nothing about. If you can be anything in this world, be kind. Check on your friends, tell people you love them, and ask for help.
