Great to get out and about for a #NewYearPlantHunt today in NW Leicestershire, which yielded 14 species, a few outside the top 10 such as Wood Avens, Red Campion & Cow Parsley.

The #NewYearPlantHunt live results show that a tremendous 1608 surveys sent in to date- 20,337 records- well done, all! Will this be the most successful hunt to date by outnumbering the 2024 result of 21,089 records?🤔Outstanding records can be submitted until midnight on Sunday.

My last solo #NewYearPlantHunt round Longthorpe took in an ancient woodland, housing estates and a churchyard I recorded 44 species in just over 2 hours, including 15 not seen in previous days' hunts - more early flowering species today! Names in ALT @bsbibotany #wildflowerhour
