Hey Dr Fern Riddell I’m sure you’re busy stockpiling TP for the end times but if you get a chance to check your DMs and reply about participating in the History Teacher Book Club discussion of “death in 10 minutes” that would be amazing.

If you are a #historyteacher and have resources available to others, Post the link here so we can collate in one place. Be great if SHP and Historical Assoc got involved in this too. This is the time for teachers across the country to come together and support each-other.

One last chance to set the tone to our pupils of how to stay strong in a crisis. The way you act with students now is how they will remember you during the long period of isolation and closure. Show them what courage in a time of confusion is. It’s a lesson they need.

This morning the sun will come up but Pupils,parents & teachers will be trying to navigate through the darkness of closure. Out of the three, the teacher has been trained to offer guidance. Lead them and inspire them with your courage. This is your moment to shine.

Well done to every teacher out there. You’ve battled isolation, technology & supervision to get one week done. It’s tough but if we continue to share the load we will get through this and maybe build stronger bonds of friendship. Cheers! (Reply with what you’re toasting with)

Wow. Two weeks. It doesn’t matter what profession you are in. We have all changed our working habits. Stay strong, be kind and offer help where you can. Raise a glass to every keyworker that’s kept you safe, fed and educated. What are you raising a glass of? (Reply below!)

This week has been hard. Isolation fatigue, weather horrible & Politicians complaining we’re not doing enough. But we were therefor every pupil we teach and provided them with the best distance learning we could. Raise a glass and toast yourself. Well done! #talkupteaching

Emotional farewell to my Year 13 historians. I changed my approach and gave them a copy of the @OUPHistory “introduction to” (rather than horrible histories) on the topic they wish they had studied more at school. A fab cohort that I will miss a lot.
