His Excellency The Governor, Lieutenant General Sir Ben Bathurst and Lady Bathurst, are opening The Convent gardens to the public on Tuesday 20th May. The Convent will be open from 11:00 to 18:00. Admission will be free of charge but there will be a donation box.

Prepped and ready for the open day tomorrow! We are open from 11am to 6pm - with plants, food and the Convents award winning marmalade available for sale. See you there!

Thank you to everyone who visited, volunteered and contributed to the Convent Open Day yesterday. It was a great success with over 630 visitors raising £2000 which will be donated evenly between two local charities: Men In Need and EV Foundation.

HE the Governor was very saddened to hear of the death of Admiral Sir Derek Reffell KCB, who served as Governor of Gibraltar from December 1989 to April 1993.

The Convent had the great pleasure of hosting a visit from Admiral Reffell's son earlier this year, remembering the happy years they spent in Gibraltar. Flags at the Convent and at No 6 Convent Place will be flown at half mast on the day of the funeral in June.

I had the pleasure of meeting with the newly appointed Principal Auditor, Phil Sharman. We had a productive discussion about his experience and his perspectives for his role here in Gibraltar.

I was delighted to present donation cheques of £1,000 each to two great local charities: the EV Foundation and Men in Need. The funds were raised during our recent Convent Garden open day. Very many thanks to all who came and donated to these good causes.
