Cryptocurrency/NFT spam has become a recurring theme of advertising on X/Twitter in recent months. Over the course of a couple hours earlier today, I was served 12 different crypto spam ads, some of them repeatedly.

These 12 spam ads were posted by 9 distinct accounts: Dorechi, @Akhil_eth, 0xLizzosFlute, Core, successwobbly.eth, Eloisa Panesar, Joan, Lori, and Jacqueline. Weirdly, Lori's bio mentions 'goals for 2016', despite the account being created in 2023.

The accounts themselves are a mix of potentially hijacked older accounts and accounts created in late 2023 that exclusively tweet crypto content. Each account links a different website in its ads.

The visible followers of eight of the nine accounts are almost all extremely similar looking recently created accounts.
