Although recovery is underway in forests near Jasper, AB with green grass showing back up & beautiful pink flowers making an appearance too, you can obviously still very much see the horror this area went through. Seeing the burn scar for the first time was incredibly surreal.

Quick one minute update from me as I juggle with trying to pick my target for today's chase. 3 different target areas, and I think I've eliminated one option and are down to two: Ottawa or Mont-Laurier, QC.

Alert Ready is so broken. That tornado warning they sent out for some reason for that Sharbot Lake storm was received by people in Brockville, Carleton Place, Hull, Arnprior, and Renfrew. B r o k e n.

In a trip that had about 400 storm photos to go through, this one is a Top 5 for me. This photo was actually pure luck. I pressed the button to take the photo, and right at the perfect time, a great CG bolt hits the ground right in front of me. July 2nd, 2025, Bowden, AB. ⛈️

Can't believe I let myself forget the anniversary of the greatest Eastern Ontario storm chase I've ever had in my 10+ years of chasing here. This is probably the most powerful storm I have chased around here, too. July 13th, 2023, Fournier, Ontario.

The last time I recorded any rain on my weather station in Winchester was around July 4-6th. That's about to change after over a month without precip. Heavy showers and thunderstorms are making their way through Eastern Ontario this morning. We need more, but this is good!

Watching this absolutely tease of a storm near St. Isidore looking north towards Plantagenet. Would have been great if there was any shear!

Just had one of my favourite scenes of the storm photography season. Look at this coloured updraft from a small storm near Fournier, Ontario this evening. Super duper pretty, and cool to see the Pileus at the top lit up too from the setting sun! #onstorm #sunset

Small forest fire in Quebec as of 6:43pm EDT, just across the river from Deep River, Ontario (it has been reported). There was a solitary lightning strike around that area yesterday morning with the rain that came through
