Although recovery is underway in forests near Jasper, AB with green grass showing back up & beautiful pink flowers making an appearance too, you can obviously still very much see the horror this area went through. Seeing the burn scar for the first time was incredibly surreal.

Can't believe I let myself forget the anniversary of the greatest Eastern Ontario storm chase I've ever had in my 10+ years of chasing here. This is probably the most powerful storm I have chased around here, too. July 13th, 2023, Fournier, Ontario.

The last time I recorded any rain on my weather station in Winchester was around July 4-6th. That's about to change after over a month without precip. Heavy showers and thunderstorms are making their way through Eastern Ontario this morning. We need more, but this is good!

Small forest fire in Quebec as of 6:43pm EDT, just across the river from Deep River, Ontario (it has been reported). There was a solitary lightning strike around that area yesterday morning with the rain that came through
