The injustice of running into roadblocks trying to find a path for an undocumented patient requiring liver transplant. Undocumented immigrants contribute to the pool of available organs & U.S. taxes, yet their access to organ transplantation is near impossible #help💔

So glad to have been at the Milwaukee #Pride2022 Parade yesterday. It was only brought down a little bit when we found our spot on the parade route and subsequently discussed our exit plan in the case of an active shooter or someone driving their car through the crowd 🙁

Medicine pearl: if you have a patient with a history of incarceration, don’t look up the reason why. All it will do is stigmatize them & lead to worse care. Just don’t look it up!
