The highlight of my official visit to Nicaragua so far, is the visit to the Garifuna community of Orinoco where I met with the leaders of that community who treated my delegation to a wonderful welcome ceremony.

I thank my friend H.E Daniel Ortega, President of the Republic of Nicaragua and the people of that great country for this award, and I solemnly affirm that I will do my best to live up to the high expectations.

Today is an exciting day for SVG, thanks to the Gov of Taiwan in St. Vincent and the Grenadines that supports our port development with a US$60M loan and our students through scholarship opportunities. As we prepare to construct our very own modern container port in capital city Kingstown, I welcomed the opportunity to visit this magnificent port city. Thank you my friend Min Joseph Wu for accompanying me on this visit, where I can learn for Kaohsiung’s experience.

I must thank the University of Wales Trinity Saint David for the kindness and generosity, to the people of SVG. We remain eternally grateful as a people for this very meaningful display of the highest form of solidarity.

My friend H.E Miguel Diaz-Canel, president of the Republic of Cuba, is on an official visit to SVG and tours the AIA, that benefited significantly from the generosity of the Cuban government and people. The bonds of friendship between both countries are stronger than ever.
