We'd like to send out a huge thank you to Tara Childress and Katie Holt of Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine for visiting us this week and speaking with our students who are interested in healthcare careers.

The Farms class visited Morningside Urban Farm and met with farmer Hannah Patrick and Angela Charlton, Carilion Clinic Community Health Educator & Morningside Urban Farm Coordinator, to learn about SE Roanoke’s own small farm and garden and the community events happening there.

The Farms class closed out their year by cooking a local foods brunch and listening to their peers present on their semester-long gardening projects. We had local ingredients from @patchworkfarmfamily, @3birdsberryfarm, @leap4localfood, and our teacher's gardens and chickens.
