From working to ensure we properly served the Vets in Southern AZ, to supporting efforts to advocate for Vets statewide, he's been a great leader & friend. Saddened to learn of the passing of Sophie Yazzie, a World War II Veteran and member of the Navajo Nation. At the age of 105, Sophie was one of the longest living female WWII veterans. Arizona is forever grateful for her service. Our prayers are with her loved ones. #RIP

I am blessed to have met Sophie and hear about her military service. Last summer we were honored to present Sophie with Governor Ducey’s Arizona Women Veteran’s Week proclamation. Arizona Department of Veterans' Services sends our deepest condolences to her loved ones, and will always remember her legacy.

Today we remember the lives lost 76 years ago at #PearlHarbor. Honored to join Wanda Wright, Judge Rick Romley, Admiral Ron Tucker, and State Historian Marshall Trimble to commemorate one of the most tragic days in American History
