the same company that built the Israeli apartheid wall has expressed interest in building Donald Trump's wall between the US & Mexico

the BDS movement is a call by Palestinian civil society that calls for non-violent protest of Israel until it complies to 3 specific demands

those three demands are as follows:

1. An end to the Israeli occupation and colonization of all Arab lands and the dismantling of the apartheid wall

2. Recognition of the fundamental rights of the Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel to full equality

3. Respect, protect & promote the rights of Palestinian refugees to return to their homes & properties as stipulated in UN resolution 194

there are three functions of BDS: Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions

Boycott means avoiding Israeli products or companies involved in the violation of Palestinian human rights & international law

Divest calls for the removal of money from corporations that profit from the violation of Palestinian human rights

Implementing sanctions calls for governments to stop relations with Israel until it stops violating the human rights of Palestinians

there are 4 main reasons we've chosen BDS as our strategy to pressure the Israeli government and society

1. Self determination -- BDS is a call from Palestinian civil society

2. It follows the legacy of similar actions taken by the internat'l community against apartheid South Africa

3. It has proven to be the most effective way for the internat'l community to engage in the non-violent struggle for Palestinian rights

4. BDS doesn't prevent diplomatic negotiations, rather it allows outsiders to peacefully demand change & to exert internat'l pressure

if you're an American citizen, you're implicated in Israeli apartheid. the US gave $38 billion in foreign aid to Israel this year

we're specifically asking CU to divest from companies that are directly involved in the violation of Palestinian human rights

companies involved in land theft, resource theft, water theft, destruction of Palestinian homes, & production of military weapons

Mekorot, the Israel nat'l water company, systematically diverts water away from Palestinian villages and toward Israeli settlements
