Today, at 10:10, students & staff at OGHS held a moment of silence in memory of Chad Dorrill. As a school & community, our thoughts & prayers are with Dorrill family & Ledford community. #Remembering10

In 2020, at the end of his final year at Pitt, Damar Hamlin organized a toy drive for kids in his hometown of McKees Rocks, Pa. This is the young man who went down on the field tonight in Cincinnati. He is a man; not a number on a jersey. Prayers for Damar.

How Classroom Assessments Improve Learning made a good point towards the end of the article on the benefits of assessment. Assessments are a way for teachers and students to see improvement within themselves in the classroom. #EDUFALL3100-23

How Classroom Assessments Improve Learning explains the importance of giving your students chances rather than a pass/fail situation. Allowing them to correct themselves, work hard, and gain knowledge of the content they are learning. #EDUFALL3100-23

One take-away I have come to learn is that assessment is the best way to make sure your students are learning the content and a way for you as an educator to see if your lesson plans and activities are working correctly. #EDU3100-23!

I also found that using informal assessments is a way to engage your students in a fun activity without them worrying about a "grade" being placed on it, and it also allows you to see their understanding while giving them an opportunity to apply it. #EDU3100-23!
