Not a bad answer at all from Nick Freitas 👏🏼. I do think there is a massive difference between Reagan and Trump that Rep. Freitas sort of elided over: Reagan employed armed diplomacy (Nau’s term) against a peer competitor effectively. Trump has done so against weak states only.

D.C.'s falling violent crime stats, as seen in a new The Washington Post graphic There's no denying the city had a spike in violent crime in 2023, as President Trump was campaigning for president. There's also no denying that it already has receded.

🚨 I’m officially on the job market this year! 🚨 My JMP speaks to a key question in political science: once elected, do racial minorities govern differently from their white counterparts? I study this subject in the context of local land-use policy in American cities.

Let us #PrayTogether for the children of Ukraine, Gaza, and other regions of the world affected by war. May we entrust children suffering today to the protection of Mary, Queen of Peace.

That's my experience as well. Every one of my Democratic friends is in a state of shock and dismay. The dominant response across the political spectrum is the same. We can't let the worst voices define how we respond to this moment. They are the fringe. Treat them like it.

Couldn’t agree more w/ David French. People who actually spend time on campus are optimistic and motivated by what they see. It’s only the people who comment from afar or likely haven’t step foot on a campus in decades who paint the dark picture.
