Just like that, Americans see something transformational: a leader putting his country ahead of any personal interest or ambition. A seismic jolt of energy that raises the bar on all of us to get out there and do whatever it takes to win this election.

There is zero private car parking for Olympic events in the city of Paris. (And yet—through the magic of walking, rolling, biking, and transit—thousands and thousands of people got there just fine.)

The Inflation Reduction Act turns two this week. Here's what we know: - Clean investment is up 71% ($493bn); - Clean investment = *more than half* of total private investment growth - Private investment is 5-6x public investment Not bad for a toddler. cleaninvestmentmonitor.org/reports/tallyi…

There's a piece going around arguing that climate disinformation isn't a serious obstacle to climate action. IMO it rests on several incorrect premises, so I wrote a response. If you saw Holly Jean Buck's piece, I hope you'll take a look at this, too. 1/19 jacobin.com/2024/08/climat…

This isn’t getting nearly enough attention. Phoenix may have just experienced the most extraordinary heatwave in American history. The city endured 21 consecutive days of record-breaking high temperatures, shattering the previous record of 14 days set in Burlington, Iowa,

People are posting popular vote comparisons to previous elections. Millions of votes are still not counted. In 2020, 17 million Californians voted. 11 million for Biden. So far only 55% or 9 million votes total have been counted in CA, 5.7 million for Kamala.

By 2030, China could have the ability to produce enough solar and storage infrastructure each year to match the entire electricity generation capacity of the United States.

Wow Tillis on floor just criticized GOP moving wind/solar credits to strict "placed in service" standard. Appeared to criticize Alex Epstein, who influenced the language. Tillis called him "a self-described philosopher" who's "never worked in an operational role" in power sector
