Very very very very very stupid thing to say a couple days before your film opens (especially one with a massive production + marketing budget launching a whole new cinematic universe). However Variety also jumbled his words around in the headline to sound way worse. Feels like

You can tell this account is ran by a dude (who apparently used to be a former high level DOD advisor, because of course.) The deflection, swearing, and unhinged FAFOposting style screams angry Gen X guy.

Right wingers are correct that homelessness usually isn't a housing/money problem and that these places become dens of drugs and crime. Progressives are correct that building "housing" like this is a race to the bottom dystopia (with a fun free market twist!)

Shame that Variety used such an out of context mishmash of different sentences Gunn said in another interview to get their provocative headline. They know that grift Twitter (Quartering and Friends, but many others as well) will never in a million years read beyond a headline.

Reminder that the ATF HQ exists to terrorize you and destroy your life as a law abiding citizen over some minor paperwork error while completely ignoring the populations of the inner cities and the mini machine-guns they all carry in their pockets.

It's nice that the DC fanbase is determined to be the absolute most insufferable fandom full of political tourists hijacking every character. Exactly what Warner Bros needs rn as they are trying to launch a new universe: activists alienating half (or more) of the audience.

The final boss of left-wing media brainrot in the comic book space is tied between "Superman is an illegal alien" (he's a refugee raised entirely in the US, people are not interchangeable blank slate machine cogs) and "why doesn't Bruce Wayne donate more money to get rid of crime

It is weird sabotage how Variety is trying so hard to create a controversy for clicks. Between the misleading ragebait headlines and the ragebait questioning.
