Recycling + crushed glass sand manufacturing + wetlands restoration. What’s not to love? Maybe a lot? This is certainly gas and diesel heavy. And it is literally using energy to turn glass back into sand. But it is definitely diverting waste. Intriguing!

Happy #WorldWaterMonitoringDay ! Colgate University Earth and Environmental Geosciences students were out measuring discharge on campus at Payne Brook. Discharge measurements help build up the field record of stream flow on campus that is measured at the Colgate Climate Network gages.

Understanding the Earth is the foundation of good stewardship of this planet. Colgate University students were out in the Shawangunk mountains this weekend exploring Ordovician seas and wandering up Silurian mountain streams.... before stopping for ice cream.

Heading out to the field with students tomorrow to boop the trilobites.
