"Ventilator associated pneumonia was confirmed in 55% of patients, bacteremia in 20%, and urinary tract infection (UTI) in 17%. 97% of patients received antibiotics during their hospitalization, and patients received nearly one antibiotic per day" journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/08…

Ventilator Associated pneumonia is the most common ICU acquired infection. In COVID 19, VAP was seen in as high as 55% intubated patients. VAP prevention guidelines by CDC have recommendations to reduce chances of acquiring VAP. #lung #lunghealth #vap #icu
