Fall finally arrives (hopefully to stay) in Florida. And it’s preparing Shakespeare lectures outside and slipping into little mom and pop wine shops to buy Sherry and wearing lot of tweed and corduroy season. Frasier Crane would be proud.

Milton: cat5 / 180 wind. I have to work all day tomorrow. By the time I’m off, traffic will be too bad to get out. I guess we hunker down, maybe sleep at the school where I teach that is storm-shelter secure. Eerie to see the eye creep to you like a bird dog creeping on point.

I quit bricking houses nearly 20 years ago. I’m pretty sure that was the last time the scale read below 200 until today. I hate that I had to lose 90 pounds to get there, but I’m glad I did.
