The Cochrane Ecological Institute has very exciting news… we have officially been reapproved to rehabilitate orphan black bear cubs – with up to a maximum of 5 cubs! We thought we would celebrate the news with some adorable tidbits of footage and photos of our previous guests.

GOODBYE GOS! 📷 Gos, the Northern Goshawk took to the skies when he was released today! He was so ready to go he skipped breakfast and was ready to say hello to his new life (and maybe some nearby ground squirrels)!

Check out what we found when cleaning our two Owl Flight Pens! 🦉We got quite a haul - can you identify who the feathers and bones might've belonged to?

The grass is green, the buds have sprouted, which means.. its time to say bye to our deer! Rewind back to May 2022, the CEI received two orphaned Mule Deer fawns into our care. Yesterday, we sent them off to explore the bison enclosure, where they will be able to hop out!

Yesterday we said "See you later!" to our sweet House Finch, Pepper! After being moved to her larger flight pen, she showed us that she could fly really well and had healed from her wing injury we noticed just a few weeks ago! Good luck Pepper!
