A remarkable survey by Deltapoll finds that the British public may sometimes tolerate - indeed, support - huge increases in urban density, if the increase yields an aesthetic improvement.

I think the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco, built in a Classical style in 1915, is proof that authenticity doesn’t really matter at all in buildings. If it looks good you can just build a Greek temple in the middle of a West Coast American city and people will love it.

ust finished Building Optimism by Coby 📚—a must-read that reshaped how I see the built environment 🏙️. “Optimism is a choice. It’s also a design tool.” Big thanks to Wes Craiglow for the gift. Highly recommend! #Placemaking #UrbanDesign #CityBuilding
