The Chancellor has kicked off the CSR by saying the purpose of this Spending Review is to "ensure that renewal is felt in people’s everyday lives, in their jobs, and on their high streets". #CSR

Rachel Reeves says the government will stop housing asylum seekers in hotels by the end of this parliament - which is due to finish in 2029. The chancellor says she is also "tackling the asylum backlog". #CSR

The chancellor has backed "home-grown AI" with a £2bn investment. Rachel Reeves says the technology has the potential to "solve diverse and daunting challenges" and create "good jobs.” #csr

Chancellor unveils 'biggest cash injection into social housing' in 50 years. She says this has been "neglected for too long.” A new Affordable Homes Programme – in which she is investing £39bn over the next decade. #CSR

“This government is investing in the biggest rollout of nuclear power for half a century, a £30bn commitment to our nuclear-powered future," the chancellor says, before pointing to yesterday's £14bn investment in the Sizewell C nuclear plant. #CSR

£1.2bn to be invested in 'training and upskilling young people' The Chancellor says she's "backing our innovators" by raising R&D funding to a "record high" of over £22bn per year by the end of the Spending Review period. #CSR

Reeves confirms 'cash injection' for social and affordable homes. Reeves says she is "proud to announce the biggest cash injection new social and affordable homes in 50 years". A new Affordable Homes Programme", which she says will get an investment of £39bn. #CSR

Police spending power gets a boost - and 14,000 new prison places will be funded. Police spending power will increase by an average of 2.3% per year during this spending review period, Rachel Reeves says. #CSR

Bus fares to remain capped at £3 until 'at least' March 2027, Reeves announces. The chancellor confirms that bus fares outside of London will remain capped at £3 until "at least March 2027". This is an extension of a scheme due to finish at the end of the year. #CSR

The core schools budget will get an extra £4.5bn a year by the end of the spending review, Rachel Reeves says. Nearly £2.3bn per year will be spent on "crumbling classrooms", along with £2.4bn a year to rebuild 500 schools, she adds. #CSR

Chancellor pledges £29bn in day-to-day spending for the NHS, Rachel Reeves is now talking about the NHS, saving one of the biggest government costs to last. #CSR
