Aerobic Capacity is Related to Repeated Sprint Ability with Sprint Distances < 40 Meters "...athletes that are more aerobically fit (I.e., greater VO2Max) appear to be faster on average AND DURING EVERY SPRINT than their less aerobically fit peers..." ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/P…

You are what you train most, so depleting metabolic resources solely on conditioning will have a negative effect on what wins games: explosive ability, says Joseph Guarascio. simplifaster.com/articles/footb… via SimpliFaster

Larger athletes Injured athletes Athletes that need to lose body fat All need more than 30g of protein per feeding! This amount won't cut it, especially if they're only eating 3-4 times total per day The upper limit per feeding for protein is 0.55g/kg and even beyond

I don't care what star you are. One of the best kids I've ever coached had 0 stars, but he had unbelievable character, work ethic, and a burning desire to compete. It's about playing for each other and attacking the process every day. Chris Klieman on accountability:

If you’re going to do slow eccentrics for hamstring health you better combo it with something faster and more dynamic. Muscle coordination far more predictive of hamstring issues than strength.

A lot of track speed watching from the sideline or the couch. Game speed is what matters and training for the 40 doesn’t do it. High speed reps of non-linear, random patterning, chase and evade, object tracking needed.

We all face a fork in the road, doesn’t matter which path you take if your heart, desire, and work ethic is there you’ll be ok.
