Adding more layers to our zone read concept Run-pass Rarely do you see a clean release, by the time you read pass/run WR is 3-5 yards down field. Also bubble screen from a slot position (also β€œrun”-pass). Increasing complexity and decisions as we get closer to camp

WHAT DB TRAINING (SAFETY) LOOKS LIKE HERE Vector Breaks (primer)-technique Specific Agility (perception action)-skill Hand Eye Coordination (competition) -fun General abilities: Accel, COD, Tracking Specific abilities: decision making, decel, tactics (c2) Progressed weekly

Visual disruptions: Very rarely do DB’s get full visual context from the start of the snap. Eyes are chaotically scanning based on reads/scheme. Adding up down, back turn, etc can help train specific eye shifts as movement has already started

There’s more to DB training than the tippy tap πŸ’© you see on social media… Average DB makes 4-6 tackles a game, many of which can be game changing opportunities. Train accordingly #MakePlaysNotPosts

Special strength exercise for those we deem β€œstrong enough” in the traditional lifts to challenge body’s ability to maintain posture through an external load. Zercher walks ➑️ Zercher squats ➑️ Zercher step through: will finish with intensive MB throws focusing on dip and rise

Reminder to majority of football s&c staffs: This summer you are not preparing your athletes for the demands of football, you are preparing them for the demands of the lactic bath that is fall camp. Good luck πŸ˜‚

Week 1 - if you played/your team won, the bar is set; get better. If you didn’t play/your team lost, let this be your origin story.
