Youth sports are out of control. I was the 9th overall pick in the MLB Draft. I played professionally for more than 10 years. Here is how I am navigating youth sports as a parent to four kids:

Parents get mad at school coaches when their kids don’t play as much as they think they should. They feel they’ve invested so much time & money that their kid should be playing more when reality is they’ve thrown money away for the last decade on pointless training & AAU teams.🤷🏻‍♂️

What an effort! Hard to capture all the feels of this moment. Belief, toughness, perseverance, and understanding our history with this event. Competing like that on that stage in their first time says so much about these women. They are a joy to coach!

Race execution at it’s finest and full belief in the journey before the outcome. They never blinked. On to the NCAA Finals!

The FIRST! The belief in and joy for each other is so palpable with these gals. They push each other every day to find those .01’s! Coach Rhodes has done an outstanding job with this group. On to Eugene!

Some achieved the outcome they wanted. Others just missed. But the effort, courage, focus, and execution by everyone…athletes, coaches, Dops, athletic trainer, and video/social crew was always on point! It never wavered and there were no excuses. Extremely proud of everyone.

It’s a new day in college athletics. And Utah is all-in, again. Thanks to our great donors & all who support, we're poised to keep our momentum at an all-time level & succeed more than ever.   It’s an incredible time to be a student-athlete, especially at the University of Utah!
