Here’s how this will go: every Friday, a former Sailor football player will be randomly recognized—not based on awards or stats, but for embodying what it means to be a Sailor. Great teammates, leaders, and competitors who left their mark.

Our third Sailor Legacy honoree is Tim “TJ” Johnson, a 1963 CHS graduate and the first All-State football player in school history under Coach Fran Ward. After high school, TJ earned a BFA from Drake University and pursued graduate studies at UNI and UCLA.

The name Knipp has been synonymous with Columbus athletics since the early 1960s. Before Mason Knipp earned three All-State honors, and before Dan Knipp became a consensus First Team All-State selection, there was Uncle Bob.

I wanna say thank you to Mr. Miller & BMAP for hiring me to lead the MS football program these past 4 years. Running onto the field with all those Saints Teams will hold a special place in my heart. I would like to let everyone know I have resigned as HC at BMAP. #LetsGoSaints
