A big part of the team's success was his consistent play behind the plate. The pitching staff trusted his pitch selection and ability block pitches in the dirt. A strong/accurate arm prevented many runners from attempting to steal bases.

Did a great job using the whole field during the week. Continues to develop strength to drive the ball G2G and make good contact with his 2K approach. On defense, the footwork/glovework was also on full display at 1B.

After rehabbing an injury from the spring, Peyton was excellent in his 1st appearance in a competitive quarterfinal. FB living in the low 80's w/more in the tank when he gets back to full strength. Great command/mix of 3 pitches. 5 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 1 K, 0 BB (55 pitches; 65% K)

The stats speak for themselves, but the velocity keeps increasing with added strength and maturity. Great command of all 3 pitches (FB/CB/SP); splitter very effective. He's a competitor at all times who always wants the ball, and works well through adversity.
