British politics is four years of people asking 'why don't we have the vision to make difficult decisions in this country?' Then six weeks of demanding that political parties rule out making any difficult decisions.

It’s almost like we’ve thought this stuff through…which is why I am a @libdems. We believe that is important. Do have a listen.

If you want to vote to get this out-of-touch Conservative Government out of office, you need to be registered. If you want to vote to elect more Liberal Democrat MPs, you need to be registered . If you want to vote for a fair deal, you need to be registered.

Yes more reason to get rid of this chaotic Tory Government. Businesses don’t invest as much when there is such uncertainty. Vote Liberal Democrats for a fair deal for our economy.

"We are extremely bad at getting value for money, but many of our candidates have not yet been exposed as Hitler admirers, please put us in charge of the government"

James Ball (@jamesrbuk) 's Twitter Profile Photo

It is genuinely bizarre that so much election coverage is based on polls. We basically spend a month telling the electorate our best guess of what they’ll do on election day, rather than actually informing that decision.

I suppose it's a punishment of sorts for Hester to see his £15m wasted on one of the most inept campaigns in electoral history, but the fact remains that every single one of Sunak's directionless ads, weird memes and clumsy photo-ops was funded by a racist theguardian.com/politics/artic…

Double by-election win for Liberal Democrats in Oxfordshire. Note that the Tories were close in the county seat. Yet in the campaign we found very few who would admit it. This shows yet again if you want the Tories out you need to vote Liberal Democrat where we are the main contenders.

Deaths in the English Channel are a direct result of a lack of safe and legal routes for refugees. We need to create more avenues of safe passage to the UK to those who need it, this will help us to solve the backlogs and stop the trafficking gangs.

Climate change is the biggest existential threat we are facing, and yet, the Tories seem to be set on taking us backwards in our progress towards net zero. The Lib Dems would prioritise insulating homes up and down the country, improving energy efficiency and lowering bills.

The Robert in this article is Robert Sandlan - and I am still absolutely horrified at his experience after the GP suggested he had Parkinson’s - but, there was a bigger financial implication that we only just discovered 🧵 (cc. Christopher Marshall)

Have to say when Cameron became PM of a majority govt in 2015 on 36.9% of the vote I don't remember quite so much concern about vote shares.

Torsten Bell (@torstenbell) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Oh, and don’t believe anyone who tells you they are serious about net zero while regularly opposing wind or solar farms, or the networks required for the energy generated to get to where people and industry are. So fed up of this nonsense 👇

Alistair Carmichael MP (@amcarmichaelmp) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Wendy is absolutely right. If people need help they need help, regardless of how many children they have. You cannot imagine a parent being turned away at a hospital if their third child was ill. It is time the government saw sense and scrapped the limit.

The treatment of junior doctors in the UK seems to be some sort of grand social experiment, in which the objective is to understand exactly how desperately people want to be doctors even if you treat them like absolute dross.

Marie Le Conte (@youngvulgarian) 's Twitter Profile Photo

even I am getting a bit bored of it by now but it really should be pointed out, whenever it happens, that parts of the right-wing media ecosystem have really gone off the deep end and should be treated with extreme suspicion by the mainstream x.com/GBNEWS/status/…

I love that we've taken computers - a machine designed exclusively to do math - and taken away the ability to solve gradeschool math problems and all it cost us was the amazon rainforest
