Spent the morning at Eastern HS for a school readiness walkthrough! Proud to see our city agencies hard at work preparing for a successful school year. Our students deserve safe, welcoming, and well-equipped learning environments and we’re making sure they have just that.

Had so much fun at National Night Out tonight! It was great to spend time with neighbors and join MPD in celebrating and strengthening community safety.

While I understand the need to keep our city safe, history has shown us that deploying the National Guard and federalizing our police department is not the answer.

On Monday, August 11th, President Trump signed an Executive Order giving the federal government control and oversight of MPD. Due to this dangerous and unprecedented act, I have been working with ACLU-DC to gather resources to ensure that neighbors stay safe.

Honored to join Grace Apostolic Church for their incredible Community Day! It was a joy to see families coming together and children receiving free school supplies to start the year strong. Grateful for the church’s commitment to uplifting our community!

Had a great evening at the Capitol View Block Party! It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces, enjoy some amazing food, and vibe to great music. Huge thanks to Brandon Scott, President of the Capitol View Civic Association, for organizing such a fantastic community event!
