Here's a study on how high-sugar diets make gut inflammation worse in mice via the gut microbiota... and in healthy mice, consuming more sugar led to an increase in Akkermansia muciniphila, which eroded the gut mucus barrier. stm.sciencemag.org/content/12/567…
