New books for writing letters 🫶🏻💙 École Chebucto Heights School
It’s taken a couple of weeks and many mini lessons during Writer’s Workshop but this grade 2 student took the risk and started an original story after always basing stories on Captain Underpants. Yay! @HrceLiteracy William King School
So I’ve been a Survivor fan for a long time and a big fan of Boston Rob. For Mother’s Day, I was thrilled to receive these items autographed by Rob! Thank you Randy, my husband, and Rob for making this mum of four boys pretty happy! Boston Rob
Sometimes I have the opportunity to help with writing in math. Today these grade 2s were writing clues for a mystery number. Great effort for the first time writing this way! @tracimckay William King School @HrceLiteracy
We are building accuracy and automaticity in connecting letters and sounds with Roll and Read. We found all the targeted vowel teams first before playing the game. (They found digraphs and blends, too!) Step by step approach made it easy and fun! 🥰UF Literacy Institute
Gr 2 students William King School are starting to learn about compound words. What a fun way to see two words coming together to make a compound word! These were flip open book format so the compound words is revealed when you open the flaps. @tracimckay @HrceLiteracy
What a great night! Students and staff put together an amazing showcase of student learning during Camp Learn S’more O'Connell Drive
Thank you to our amazing SLP Kelly Christie for teaching us about EET beads. A great multi-sensory tool to develop oral and written language! We have really grown as writers and are adding descriptive words. We were sad that today was our last lesson! @HRCE_StudentSer Burton Ettinger
We explored books by author, Barbara Reid and were inspired by her plasticine clay pictures! For writers workshop, students created their own artwork with clay and started to write a story about it! Burton Ettinger
