Sad to learn that Ultravox bassist Chris Cross has passed.

Midge Ure posted a tribute, which stated: 'You were the glue that held the band together. You were the logic in the madness and the madness in our lives. It was great to know and grow with you.'

The new songs really have a punch to them live, particularly 'Kleptocracy', but also the more sedate 'Veruschka'/'Healing' segment worked well.

'Please', the debut album by Pet Shop Boys, was released on this day in 1986. The album featured the singles 'West End Girls', 'Opportunities (Let's Make Lots of Money)', 'Suburbia', and 'Love Comes Quickly'.

'Please' reached No. 3 in the UK charts.
