I often screenshot YT to accompany notes, but recently they have turned out black. A solution was simple: disable hardware acceleration in Chrome. qr.ae/pvFTVS

Externalizing goes hand in hand with internalizing. That is, being able to externalize well indicates good internalizing. The reverse is not necessarily true. Note taking is an easy and simple way to externalize - and is private by default. Just start.

Not that this is perfect, but this nicely captures a many-to-many-to-many reduction - down to a fundamental model of emotions. It's a tree (DAG). You could apply this to other qualitative mappings.

The Gentlemen is my favorite movie of the past few years. Roger: Ringing the bell but not too loud. Dipped in honey, it's on the money. But you always could make a good cup of tea, Mickey.

Eat bananas when they are ripe or before. While I knew they were sweeter after ripe, I didn't know it was lower in vitamin and fiber content.

My gosh. "Global Entry includes TSA PreCheck and only costs $22 more for the same perks and more." nerdwallet.com/article/travel… For anyone that doesn't have either, roll with global entry. The classic upfront work for long term benefit.

Do you not like to sit for long periods of time? Me neither. Turns out: interrupted sitting reduces inflammation. I may be a busy body, but that's another story 😄 npr.org/sections/healt…

This is a great recap of PSYONIC's excellent work and long journey. It highlights key advantages such as durability and water resistance. And the live demos are amazing: chess, push-ups, punching through blocks of ice, and the famous bottle flip. youtu.be/IxnKeu6gMB8?si…

I really enjoyed this article on developer counter-productivity -- likely validating for anyone in a software-related group in a large org. A manager must-read. Could be used as a template for an occasional retro. cutlefish.substack.com/p/tbm-240-the-…

I find that in product design and development, there are nearly infinite variables and options. But it is doable by reducing variables and dimensionalities. Reminds me of Avi and Bullet Tooth Tony in Snatch. youtube.com/watch?v=xEjmVy…

I been sayin it: more independence for kids! I'm continually disappointed by US laws requiring child supervision until 11yo - as this takes away from independence during a formative period. And most adults these days grew up without this restriction.

Delayed feedback delays learning. Wicked learning environments have patterns that don't repeat and/or delayed feedback. Extension of Rishi's thesis: fast feedback improves neuro-motor learning. We learn that delayed feedback diminishes/delays learning. readwise.io/reader/shared/…

I finally got around to reviewing the movie ‘The Substance’ which is an amazing and challenging movie. If you can handle gore, this is a psychological thriller for you. [spoilers] medium.com/p/the-substanc…
