Listening to our Shadow Minister for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Robbie Moore MP talking about the negative impacts Labour policies are having on farming and food production in the UK. Food security is paramount. We must hold this Labour government to account.

This tax will hit hospitality businesses with a double whammy as they already pay for commercial wage collection but will now see charges come down the supply chain. Ministers should exempt pubs, hotels and restaurants already paying thetimes.com/uk/politics/ar…

Watching ITV News piece on Vape Spiking. Children as young as 13 affected. Why are we allowing this to happen. Vapes should be prescription only for those quitting smoking. Ban all other vape products, what are we doing to our kids! Stamp Out Spiking #BanVaping

Yesterday I lost my County seat, along with 30 of my friends and colleagues. Good, hard working councillors with years of experience. Many replaced by Reform candidates who signed up a few weeks ago, with no clue what they were letting themselves in for. Not good for Devon 😞

Labour’s new fertiliser tax won’t just hit farmers, it’ll hit you too. From 2027 the fertiliser we use to grow wheat for bread, or barley for beer is going to be taxed. That means food gets more expensive. And while British farms get taxed, imported food won’t. Is that fair?

I have seen local North Devon small hospitality businesses announce cuts to opening hours this week. It’s frightening. These people are the lifeblood of coastal communities and provide opportunities for young people. Governments don’t create jobs, businesses do!

💯 agree it’s wrong. I asked the question at a local consultation for yet another solar farm in my patch.. why don’t you use industrial areas, car parks etc? I was told they don’t get government subsidies for those projects 🤷‍♀️ It seems the gov is set on destroying our countryside

This is double taxation pure and simple - hospitality businesses already have to pay for commercial recycling and now will have to pay an additional tax on top because govt rules classify them as households. All this will do is increase prices #TaxedOut

Kate Nicholls OBE (@ukhospkate) 's Twitter Profile Photo

The reality for too many - the money coming through the front door is not enough to cover costs and so too many customers - and businesses - are being #TaxedOut

We farm the best soils in Britain. And they want to cover them with solar panels? Not on our watch! Farmland is for food – not for solar farms. Every acre lost to panels is an acre lost to feeding our people. We’re not against renewables. But put them where they belong – on
