Last week I hosted my civic dinner, where Mayors, dignitaries, businesses, politicians, charity and community groups gathered - we celebrated with a local student singer and a canter through Thurrock history. We also raised thousands for the mayoral charities. Thank you!

Mayors, Chairman, military and clergy have gathered in their respective counties for evensong as we look towards a weekend of #Coronation celebrations. Who wants to elect a partisan president when we can have constitutional monarchy, underpinned by democracy?!

Today we celebrate #VEDay to keep alive the memory of victory in Europe over evil, and continue to celebrate the #coronation over the bank holiday.

The King has given us a Bank Holiday - I’ve used my #BigHelpOut to go to a local school and help them clear an overgrown area for their forest school. There is always something you can offer to make the world a little better for others! #coronation

3 very special things - getting an invite from the King to attend the garden party, ending the mayoral term with a coronation celebration at Buckingham Palace, and most importantly, getting to take Dad.

. Kevin Robinson is now the Former Mayor of Southend. The 101st Mayor has been a energetic champion of his city. We are from different parties and traditions, but have shared quite a period which I’m proud has born a friendship. I’ll shortly join him in the “former mayors club”.

My most fabulous of Mayoral colleagues has concluded her time. Brentwood has been energetically served! We had a great chain gang, and was delighted to spend time with Olivia - well done on an outstanding time!

My final official engagement at St Clere's School - after well over 300 engagements over the last year, it was great to spend my final one at an amazing school who are preparing the leaders of the future.

My duty is done! 320 engagements. Over £23k raised for my charities. Roll of Honour Civic Awards established. We kept the office going through more historic events than any other municipal period. It’s been an honour, thank you. Good luck to our 49th Mayor. 48 over and out!
