Even more positive steps released today regarding Ofsted I feel in particular the call only on Monday will relieve so much stress and anxiety for those expecting an inspection. Thank you to Tes for this useful breakdown. Thoughts?

My thoughts today are with the 72 people who lost their lives in the Grenfell fire, and with the survivors and bereaved families who have fought so long. This is their day. They have waited too long to get the truth, and are still waiting for real justice and meaningful action.

George Clarke, architect, writer and broadcaster, says governments over the last 40 years have failed to provide affordable rent for social housing and instead been ‘obsessed with home ownership’, leading to a ‘collapse in the entire system’. #R4Today

Today we remember the 72 lives lost in the Grenfell tragedy. Survivors and families fought so long and hard for justice, and they're still waiting. We must act now—remove dangerous cladding, hold those responsible accountable, and ensure this never happens again.

If we’re going to be a healthier nation, sports and recreation will play a big part. I found out more in Parliament this week. Don’t forget National Fitness Day on 18 September: nationalfitnessday.com

Beyond disappointed that the Gvt has approved Thames Water 💧’s Water Resources Management Plan, including the highly controversial sewage recycling proposals at Teddington. I will be seeking an urgent meeting with Environment Secretary Steve Reed MP to demand answers.

Worth reading, this policy of scrapping the Winter Fuel allowance for most pensioners has not been thought through fully. The fact that 880,000 pensioners are not claiming Pension Credit when they could be, shows that there may be hardship for many this winter, if this continues

Cutting the Winter Fuel Allowance will put untold stress on pensioners. We all know that the Conservatives left public finances in a mess, but vulnerable older people should not be forced to choose between eating and heating this winter. Liberal Democrats will oppose this cut.
