My thoughts today are with the 72 people who lost their lives in the Grenfell fire, and with the survivors and bereaved families who have fought so long. This is their day. They have waited too long to get the truth, and are still waiting for real justice and meaningful action.

Worth reading, this policy of scrapping the Winter Fuel allowance for most pensioners has not been thought through fully. The fact that 880,000 pensioners are not claiming Pension Credit when they could be, shows that there may be hardship for many this winter, if this continues

Cutting the Winter Fuel Allowance will put untold stress on pensioners. We all know that the Conservatives left public finances in a mess, but vulnerable older people should not be forced to choose between eating and heating this winter. Liberal Democrats will oppose this cut.
