Drivers kill more pedestrians than cyclists do. There is a risk to the cyclists life in those collisions. There are no drivers hurt as they are safe in their cars. Cyclists who kill by dangerous cycling always get locked up. Unless they die in the collision.

LTNs protect inner Londoners from the outer Londoners who insist on driving everywhere and who demand to use urban side streets as shortcuts. LTNs do make Active Travel more inclusive for women, children, older and disabled people. But mainly they just make streets better. 😊

THIS DAY in 1954, Alan Turing took his own life. Helped to win WWII. Saved 100s of 1000s of lives. Created the first Electronic Computer. A True Genius of his time. Driven to desperate measures by a Society that didn't understand a different sexuality.

The two women in the news story clearly articulate why they report close-passing drivers. Reckless driving behaviour like this leads to too many deaths and to too many people stopping cycling. When we drive, we should pass cyclists at more than 1.5m or wait until we can.
