Puddle report from today’s commute!

Soooooo….. This is the safest part of the ride from downtown to NE. Look closely and you’ll see the two flat tires and bent wheels from this car flying up over the curb.

Riding into work today on probably the busiest or second busiest bike route, this what we encountered. Leaves covering the bike lane (many weeks after they’ve fallen), a car parked in the protected bike lane, and a totally inaccessible work zone.

In small win news, today I had success linking data in Excel via VLOOKUP. That feels pretty great!

Heads up Portland Bureau of Transportation One if the bike racks on Johnson and 14th at REI has two of the four nuts removed and a third is loose. Ought to be fixed (and replaced with security bolts) ASAP to prevent bike thefts here. cc: BikeIndex Portland

If pbot plans to continue to refer to this as a “protected bike lane” please consider adding real protection. This driver was extremely shaken up and apologetic but this type of conflict could have easily been prevented if safety was a priority within the bureau.
