Had a go at a destroy a source lesson today after seeing the idea on here. Y8 engaged really well with. One student even made links to symbols from Greek mythology. Others not there yet but still a good way to end the Empire topic and bring together knowledge #historyteacher

This is a really useful thread. I make sure students can access blank copies of the revision sheets we fill in in class so they can do a similar process.

Preparing carefully beforehand is the best way to be ready to improvise successfully during a lesson. When you know your lesson well, your working memory is free to perceive what students are doing & thinking. This allows you to better decide how to make adaptations & changes.
