Time to get to Aruba so my poor dog can go for a walk. One more week.

Heidi received a lovely welcome package w/ a handwritten note to HER. We both enjoy the huge balcony where she chases birds & I relax. Warm salty air cures all. Sinus issues, body aches, winter shut-in boredom, all gone in less than 24 hours.

Why is it that when people want to make it sound like the dog is talking, they make the dog sound like a moron? Most dogs I know are smarter than most people I know. I think Mr. Peabody is a better representation.

Told friends about latest PB. Said it's based on an incident involving a mutual friend, Mark. MC's personality also based on Mark's. We reminisced about other Mark stories. I joked, "I could write a whole series about Mark." We laughed, but now I'm thinking about it.

Does anyone else get angry at "nobody likes me" posts, begging for engagement? I want to tell them to get a life but that would still be an engagement, so they'd win.

I seem to be in another 'maybe pile' and, after several close calls, it's more depressing than exciting this time.

Grandkids' new joke is almost as annoying as interrupting cow, but kind of cute. Why are chickens funny? be-CAUSE!

To all decent, caring Americans. PLEASE understand how we feel about 51st state jokes. You might THINK it's a joke but laughing while you insult someone doesn't make it funny. It's not a joke. It's a threat, it's an insult, and it's even more hurtful coming from a friend.

Power was out. no wifi. I looked at my PB drafts & found one I wrote very recently but forgot about. I worked on it until the power came back. 1st thing I saw in my inbox was a contest specifically for the PB genre I was working on, deadline today. Seemed fated so I entered.

Puppy cuddles can be awkward when the puppy is a 5-month-old Great Dane.

Fantastic to meet Tracey West and Mitali Banerjee Ruths. Tracey has been so kind and inspirational to my grandkids and me through Facebook. Mitali was very warm and welcoming. They were both generous with their time yesterday, sharing tips, answering questions and signing books.

Feeling old. Can't keep up with new rules. I finally start texting & today's news report: certain texts are offensive. Long hand is too long & certain short forms & emojis are considered passive-aggressive, k😃👍. Why old people become reclusive & why I prefer talking to my dogs.
