A swing taken in the lab at Driveline Baseball As seen by our custom CV models. That's tight. Bat tracking, ball tracking, and pose tracking all coming together. Science.

On my $1000 bet on the LED radar board - and why it didn't surprise me that our employees/interns ran with the idea before anyone else. Driveline R&D prioritizes agency and initiative - no better place to work in sports if that's you.

Driveline blogs similar to this one from Clayton Thompson and Adam Bloebaum were the main motivator for me to apply to Driveline. This is the place where you can learn the most about baseball analytics, and I highly recommend reading past blogs! drivelinebaseball.com/2025/02/bat-tr…

At Driveline Baseball, we use moondream for VQA, image captioning & more. While fine‑tuning it for our use cases, I’ve come to understand its 3‑phase architecture that makes it so lightweight and effective: 1️⃣ Vision Encoder 2️⃣ Cross‑modal Projector 3️⃣ Language Model See thread⬇️

Learned about throwing on three continents. This is by far the most difficult spine work I’ve ever done in my life. It’s battle to put the lower half in a position to allow the upper body to move.

Clayton Thompson (@clayton_t22) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Two reps in sequence. Elite and non-elite. Mobility and strength likely hindering the bridge on one. Using the lower half to support upper half movement. Safe to say people need more intentionality with their “spinal” drills.

Spinal extension may be less about the actual ability to extend the spine and more about the ability to build a base of support for the upper body to lengthen. The lower body mobility/strength it requires to support these positions may be more important than spinal extension.

Reason 1,000 why hitting a baseball is so hard The amount of time any hitter is actually "on plane" is so small it's ridiculous

How quickly a hitters bat path is changing during the swing is incredibly high But this is why marginal improvements can have such a big impact on performance Graphs & Vizzies via Clayton Thompson

Went to Vegas to learn about wrestling. A reflection on my experience, and how I will be applying the knowledge to pitching going forward. I am going to be a jujitsu beast. medium.com/@cl4ytonthomps…
