Patients with high compliance to protocol may be different and prone to do better. 👉Avoid selection bias and don't do analysis on effect of treatment compliance on outcome in nonsham-controlled trials jamanetwork.com/journals/jaman… Aarhus Uni.hospital Claus Z. Last Friday, Sine Buus defended her PhD thesis regarding socieconomic inequalities in access to stroke treatment. Louise McCullough came all the way from Houston to serve as opponent! 🙏🏽

Another large-core stroke treatment trial yielding positive results which is exciting news for the stroke community but comes with a huge responsibility on us as neurologists. Age, baseline medical conditions/functional status play a vital role but the most important factor

We followed >8000 Danes with atrial fibrillation who had a stroke and started/restarted DOAC. For incidence rates of stroke recurrence, association of recurrence with DOAC discontinuation & more, see our article in #JAMA Neurology: jamanetwork.com/journals/jaman…

Also, check out the accompanying #Editorial by Claus Z. Simonsen & Rolf Blauenfeldt. Rapid optimization of stroke systems throughout the US is needed to adapt to the increasing volume of patients who are becoming eligible for EVT under evolving practice paradigms.

I ASSET tester vi, om semaglutid har en gavnlig effekt hos patienter med blodprop i hjernen. Studiet kører nu på Rigshospitalet og OUH, udover AUH.
