We just released version 4 of the Yocto/GL graphics library. github.com/xelatihy/yoctoโ€ฆ This releases focuses on making the library significantly simpler to use while keeping most the features developed so far.

the Cut Locus is the closure of points having multiple shortest paths from a given source. Many differential quantities used in our algorithms are well defined everywhere but at the CL, making it necessary to explicitly define this structure

we can produce a topologically correct and geometrically accurate version of the CL on discrete meshes of any size and complexity, also being orders of magnitude faster than prior art

in the paper we show applications involving the definition of the maximal injectivity disk for the exponential map, and for POV-aware mesh cutting for texturing

We just released version 4.4 of the Yocto/GL library. github.com/xelatihy/yoctoโ€ฆ. This release includes an experimental CUDA path tracer together with small improvements. This release will be the last one in the 4.x line. Expect major improvements, and changes, in the next release.

Provably injective mappings to convex or star-shaped domains can be computed by means of only triangle splits, edge flips and segment intersections. It took me more than 5 years to complete this article and what I am proud the most is its simplicity arxiv.org/abs/2305.11552
