Talking to Dotty McLeod about my Christmas jumper collection this morning while reading the BBC Cambridgeshire sports news. Just in case anyone’s not seen them, here’s the current collection, I’d love a Cambridgeshire one if anyone knows of one!

At Broadcasting House at 5:30 am on four hours of sleep, but for the chance to sit in and watch BBC Radio 3 Breakfast it was too good a chance to pass up! Just yoga, compline and a course I’m leading after a full day in the office when this is done…

It took me until I was 48 to work out what I wanted to do for a living. For one day at 49, I’m doing it: this morning I’m producing at @bbcradio3 and Breakfast with Petroc Trelawny. From 6:30 we’ll have Bach, Beethoven, Beach and Bacewicz, and some other letters too. Come join!

Time for the 15 favourite albums of 2023 roundup! leahbroad.substack.com/p/favourite-bo… My top 15 were: Grazyna Bacewicz from Peter Jablonski Elisabeth Brauss Nicholas Collon and Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra. This is one of the best Bacewicz recordings I’ve heard, full of fire, energy and drama. Ondine Records

Each week at ClassicalFolkMark on Instagram I pick my #FridayFour - a recent classical, a recent folk, a chart and a throwback album that I’ve listened to in the last week. Here are my four this week, let me know if there’s anything you’re currently listening to!

Delighted to be back celebrating my 25th anniversary of singing Advent and Christmas carols at St Nicholas' Church with a beautiful selection of music this year including Kerensa Briggs Elizabeth Daley and Benjamin Britten. So blessed to sing in this wonderful, welcoming place.

Thoroughly well deserved. Having the privilege to work with Anna Lapwood remains a career highlight and so glad to see that her music, education and sense of fun have touched so many this year. 👏 👏 👏

Booking for BBC Proms 2024 complete for now, although we may do a couple more as on the day Prommers. Very happy with the selection we got, and only about an hour and a half in the queue! 😂 Can’t wait to be back at our summer home Royal Albert Hall in a couple of months.

Brollies at the ready as we dashed for tonight’s BBC Proms concert at Royal Albert Hall and one of my favourite piano concertos by Ravel. Music from Charles Ives, Debussy and Tchaikovsky make this a real treat of an evening, even with the slightly soggy weather on the way in!

Always a joy to welcome Vasily Petrenko and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra to the BBC Proms. Shimmering Ives, beautiful Debussy and Tchaikovsky, and the sparkling Ravel Piano Concerto with Denis Kozhukhin. Twenty-two Proms down, 68 to go…

A floating piano played mid-air = total drama 🎹🖤 Tenor Benjamin Bernheim performs The Hymn to Apollo - the oldest hymn from Ancient Greece, accompanied by Alain Roche.

You can hear more music from Benjamin Bernheim on Radio 3 Breakfast tomorrow morning. Tune in just before 8am on @bbcsounds to hear kate molleson playing ‘Tout est fini’ featuring Benjamin.

Honoured as always to be asked in as an occasional producer, especially when you get to produce something as iconic as BBC Radio 3 breakfast, thanks to Petroc Trelawny and the team for having me back. Hopefully we’ve got the nation off to a good start today, have a good one all!
