This project will create thousands of new local jobs. And when complete - will provide state-of-the-art research facilities for Doherty Institute, Burnet Institute, @unimelb, CSL and many more.

Study by Monash University The Alfred Burnet Institute shows immunity could last up to a year. Our immune system 'remembers' SARS-CoV-2 and is armed to respond if we re-encounter the virus, making reinfection less likely to occur acc to Prof Heidi Drummer. heraldsun.com.au/news/victoria/…

We are a leading Australian medical research and public health organisation, not a news agency. The content we share on #Facebook is to help inform users about the latest research breakthroughs aimed at saving lives and solving complex global health issues, including #COVID19.

Very concerning that Burnet Institute and many other non-profit organizations, health services, and emergency services in Australia have been blocked by Facebook. This is unacceptable

You know what’s frustrating? I was at the footy and for the last 24hrs have actually experienced a contact tracing/testing system that actually works. Was at the MCG one row over from the main exposure section. Got a text explaining what was going on and to monitor for symptoms

We're launching our own open-access video campaign to encourage people to get their COVID-19 vaccination. As a peak body, VCOSS can’t increase vaccine supply or get ‘needles into arms'. But we can help get people into vaccination centers.

I love freedom. Who doesn't love freedom? I want freedom from being amongst the over 4 million official (and likely 10 million actual) COVID deaths globally. And freedom from being amongst the over 13 million current active cases. Or millions of current Long COVID cases. 1/

Excellent thread on why any approved available vaccine is the one you should get. I took the AZ vaccine and have recommended my family and friends to get it if it is available to them. Several have. Death is not the only adverse outcome of getting COVID. Long COVID is worse.

Struggling with lockdown? Considering Vaccination? I urge you to reflect on current ICU #Covid19Aus cases. 85 NSW, 8 Vic. Many anaesthetised & on breathing machines. All on O2. Many have other organ systems failing. Many are young, unvaccinated. Think of their families, & yours.

First day back in Emergency since Victoria has changed tack on #COVID19Vic. All my colleagues know what's coming...the only questions are how long & how bad it could get. We'll look after each other, because that's the only way we'll get to the other side of this. #COVID19Aus

Thank you, Victoria, your sacrifices have not been in vain. Modelling recently conducted by Burnet Institute found that lockdown six has already prevented more than 6000 local COVID cases in this latest outbreak. theage.com.au/national/victo…

Melbourne hospitals have been intensely preparing for inevitable increases in #Covid19Vic patients We're tired like everyone after the last 18 months. We're not interested in the "hero" label. We're proud to do our work. If you want to show your support, just get vaccinated. Now.
