2 where students post their own inspirational quotes/arrange the space. Asking students to take responsibility for their own learning begins by having them share ownership of the space and not feel like visitors to someone else’s vision of a learning space for 10months.

Kids are the same. It’s the parents and their unwillingness to take on their role as such, that is different these days.

Homework does little to improve achievement and can actually have negative effects, especially at elementary level. Recess however has many positive effects such as improved self regulation of emotions, improved interpersonal skills and focus! And should never be taken away.
